Stakeholders Backs Shippers’ Council’s Efforts to Achieve Fraud-Free Port Activities

Stakeholders have declared their support for efforts of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) to instill discipline in the clearance of goods at the nation’s ports.

In a 12-point communique issued at a one-day enlightenment seminar on “Ethics, Inegrity in International Trade and the Need for Shippers to Comply with Customs Clearance Procedures at the Seaports/Borders”, organized by the NSC in Port Harcourt, Stkeholders resolved to cooperate with the Council in ensuring compliance with clearance procedures and ethical standards in international trade.

The communique, which was jointly signed by the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Sam Epiah and the South-South Zonal Coordinator of NSC, Mr. Ekpeyong Eke, also called on stakeholders to always comply with guidelines and procedures set by regulatory authorities as well as the need to carry out their international trade in a sincere manner to avoid falling victim to the long arm of the law.
