ANLCA WILL PARTNER SHIPPERS' COUNCIL TO CHECK ARBITRARY LEVIES

A noteble clearing agent, and a Presidential candidate for the Assciation of Nigerian Licennsed Customs Agents (NLCA), Iju Nwabunike, has assured that the rampant cases of imposition of arbitrary levies and charges by terminal operators would soon become a thing of the past, as the association plans to join forces with the Nigerian Shippers' Council to check the menace.

 

Nwabunike, who spoke during an interview with his Vice Presiderntial candidate, Dr. Kayode Farinton,in Lagos, also promised to focus attention on the welfare of the members, professionalism and enhancing operational efficiency.

 

According to him, the current situation wherby shipping companies, terminal operators and other service providers in the nation's ports industry wake up suddenly one morning and begin to impose charges and levies that have to service functions on port users would no longer be acceptable and must stop forthwith.
